hey everyone, i haven't got to post much the last few months. i thought since i was up on one of my many sleepless nights i would post a few lines. my reptile family is doing great! barney, my gorgeous iggy is over 2 feet from snout to tail and his getting bigger everyday it seams. fred my rainbow boa is about 4 feet now and eats great. my two red eared sliders are growing like weeds. as far as my human family i hate to say were not doing so good . i am getting my heart problems under control but my husband brad just got out of the hospital on friday where he had to undergo numerous test and a blood transfusion. his white blood cell count had droped into the fatal zone and we weren't given the best hope. he has been sick for some time now and doesn't seam to be getting better. were not sure how bad his cancer is or the extent of it. him not having insurance is the worst part . i am sorry to say that i am not able to help any with the blue iguana's. :'(i wish i could but we just cant afford it. with four kids and a sick husband its very hard right now. i am sorry that i cant help them. :'(my children know a little about there dad and they try to understand but i know its hard for them to see him this way . i however am an emotional basket case. everyone tells me to try to look on the brite side and it'll get better soon but i am starting to wounder and have many many doubts. i know this isn't the greatest of news and I'm sorry, it just makes me feel a little better to be able to get some of it off my chest. the hurt and the anger sometimes run together and i dont know what to do about it. if you would please say a prayer for my husband and my family. sorry for such a bad post kessa

:(first i want to say to :'(Stephanie that i am sorry that you have had to go threw this for so long , its only been 6 months for me and i'm not sure i could handle it for 11 years... i know thats bad to say but its just really hard! i love my husband very much and do wish it was me instead of him. bad things do happen to good people and i wish i understood why. i want to thank you, Marie,Stepanie and Elizabeth for taking the time to read my post and for the caring words, it does mean alot to me. now i want to let you guys know that we go in tomorrow for more blood work and grueling test, were keeping our fingers crossed and our prayers going, hopefully luck and god will be on our side and we will get some good news for a change. i will let you all know something as soon as i can. :)last but certainly not least i want to say how nice it is that i can come here and say things with out judgment and get such caring replies. i live at least 2 hours from my family and sometimes its very hard to get to talk to someone to get some stress release and support. i absolutely love being able to come on here and talk to all of you. you have a wonderful site with caring and loving people and thats very hard to find these days. so i want to end this with "THANK YOU ALL" KESSA

Hey Kessa My thoughts and prayers are with you and your family. I hope you will get some good news soon. I'm so sorry you have to go through all these problems. I'm sorry I didn't answer this sooner but was trying to think of what to say. Because Cancer is what took my mom at age 24 and my Aunt and sister and I are survivors. Feel free to pm me if you have any questions. I can try to help, maybe? Since I have been through some things. At least my experiences anyway and things I have read. So I feel for you and will pray that things will get better for you and your hubby. Glad your reptile family is doing good though.

hey everyone, i thought i would share whats been going on here. well brad went to the hospital last friday morning at 7am for a colon oscopy. then into surgery at 11am. they removed about 1/2 of his colon, and checked his liver, kidneys and other organs. the surgeon said that he is 98% sure that they got all of the cancer. he also said that his lymthnodes were not infected!! he got to come home this past tuesday . so far he is doing great!! he goes back to see the doctor on the 26th and then to see a oncologist. the surgeon that did the surgery said that in his opinion he doesn't need chemotherapy! but he wants him to get a second opinion anyway. after 7 months of hell we finally got some good news and he has gotten relief from all the pain. i thought i would share this good news with all of you since you were all so very sweet to me. i want to thank you all again for the e-mails and the posts on here as well. i strongly believe that god is watching out for our family. and brad will be getting better and stronger everyday. kessa

Hello Kessa I am so glad to hear that Brad's operation was a success, that the prognosis is good and the pain is gone. I hope he doesn't have to go through chemotherapy but if he does I hope that will be the end of it for you and your family. I hope you keep us updated. I will keep Brad, you and your family in my thoughts and prayers for his continued recovery. God bless you and take care.

Kessa,
That is great news! I'm glad you have some good news about your husbands cancer. I can't say the same for my mom's cancer.
I'm glad that he is in relief from the pain, as that can be horrible to deal with and be around someone with a lot of pain. That is great that his dr cares so much as to send him for a second opinion in regards to the chemo.
Hope everything starts to smooth out for you and your family and he continues to have a great recovery.
