Well My New Year is starting out with a fight on my hands . Which is Breast Cancer for the second time around for me. And the reason for me not being around much lately ,Sorry. I just want to tell everyone how important it is to check themselves and catch things like this early. As I found these lumps myself, and most people do. Because it is easier to fight if it don't spread elsewhere. Which I am still waiting on results from some tests I had done. But in my case I have a very strong family history and most likely have the gene. My masectomy surgery was Wed. Jan. 18. but they had to take me back in the next day to repair a blood vessel and clean the clots from drain area. So I was in the hospital an extra day. The Dr. said I will be weak for awhle from loosing so much hemoglobin. Plus I will be going through chemo again after I heal. So Please everyone be aware of any changes to your bodies as you never know?? But all the iguana's are doing pretty good. Miss Jr. eating like a piggie again Bronx is picking up her eating at tmes and Mr. Worf is also. He may be coming out of season... and Quazi still a piggie and they are all growing!! I just wanted to let you guy's know what was going on around here and hope that someone will have some good stories to tell about how there New Year is going Sorry so long take care now!!

Denise,
Sorry you are having to go through this a second time. It is a good thing you are aware of changes. Hope there isn't anymore problems with bleeding. I know how weak you get when you've lost a lot of blood and it is not nice. At least they didn't have to transfuse you. That hurts like no tomorrow having cold blood pumped in you. I don't envy you going through chemo. You must be a very strong person. Hope the tests turn out well.
Glad all your iggies are doing so well. That isalways good to hear. Mine seem to be doing well for now. I just need to get little Huffy's heating where it doesn't keep turning off. He was 70 again today. My poor Huffy Boy. But he will be able to move in the girl's old enclosure when they move to the new one.
This year so far is decent. Got a nice little check yesterday. It's not a fortune but I'll be able to reduce my debt greatly, get the cat fixed, the car fixed, visit my Dad for his birthday, and have a new enclosure built for the girls so Huff can move from the back bedroom. Probate from my Mom's estate is finally done and over with. So is my Stepdad's but that was nill due to his debt--worse than mine ever thought of being. But I am all done with lawyers, courts and CA (except filing my last income tax with them). Hope there be some more good news from others.
Good luck Denise and please take care.

Denise, I am very aware of how important it is to check yourself regularly due to losing my mom this last November due to breast cancer gone to the bone. No one in our family has ever had breast cancer that I know of. So now its in our family and time to really do the checks. I was worried for you while you were having your surgery but I was glad to know you were ok and I called to make sure you were alright, but you didn't end up coming home the day I called. I'm glad things are going well, and you might be getting something in the mail soon from me. If it ever gets there. LOL you know how mail can be! You are a very strong person and I'm sure you'll be fine, just like you were telling me. We will be here for you if you ever need anything, just so you know I hope everyone starts having a better year this year. As my last year was a hard one with losing my mom, so I hope things get better. I'm glad your igs are doing well even with all the stressful waves going through the house. RZ is eating all the time but KooKie is being a stubbron little boy and not wanting to eat very much. He's going through a lot of changes in his body right now though, so hopefully next breeding season will be a bit easier for him and me! Well hope to see you guys all soon, and your in our thoughts

Denise I am sorry to hear about you going through this again. I know how scary and devistating finding a lump cam be. When I was 17 years old I found a lump in my left breast and has to have surgery to remove it. I was scared out of my mind! When the test results came in later, after the surgery it was not cancerus. I was one of the lucky ones.
I regularly check myself and constantly tell other women how important it is to check themselves.
As far as my year is concerned, it is going just about the way that last year ended. LOL Work is still there, not as hectic as the past few months but there. I have missed being able to be on the site and posting because of the hectic schedule with work.
Jon is well and so are the Iggies. I have to clean out the cages shortly and well i guess that i could be doing it right now....but I am procrastinating. LOL
Well god bless you and we will continue to pray for your speedy recovery. I will try to be on the puter more than i have been.
Hugs to you and Patrick and I hope to hear from you all soom.

That is a very scary thing to go through at 17, and yes you did turn out to be very lucky. I also tell people how important it is after losing my mom in November from Breast cancer gone to the bone. Its not just your breasts that it effects if you don't take care of it, thats what she learned the hard way. I'm glad that both of you are doing well as of right now. Denise should come on soon and post an update
