What is the best way to help a brown anole overcome MBD. Hes not bloated and is drinking water. He cant move his back legs. My friend in Romania doesn't know of any reptile vets there. Anyone have any ideas?

An anole needs the same kind of care an iguana does with one exception. It's an insectivore instead of an herbivore. It still needs UVB lighting, specific temperatures and the right diet. I don't know what the weather is in Russia right now, but if it's warm enough he can get it outside for 20 mins of real sunshine being very careful on how he holds it. A lizard this small with MBD is very brittle. www.anapsid.org/vets/slovenia.htmlwww.anapsid.org/vets/romania.htmlAnd here are two email addresses that I hope work that might be someone your friend could ask about a vet the anole could be taken to. rjh@folium.ru natalia_ananjeva@yahoo.comWith this anole already being paralyzed the way he is...it's a very advanced case. He will need aggressive treatment with a calcium carbonate injection to get him started. I wish your friend luck.
