This is to show how well basilisk and CWD's can get along. This is what they are all housed in.

OMG! That is a great picture. I certainly hope you come over and share that one with us on graceful dragons. How old is the dragon piggy backing?

no. there are 4 water dragons and the basilisk in there. If my husbands calculations are correct, it can house 6-7 3 foot lizards. To pooka: The WD was about a year old in that pic. Now, she is about 2 years old.

Really great pics! I guess they do get along then eh? What a cute picture thanks for sharing!! From what I have heard it's probably best to take it on a case by case basis, but that is absolutely amazing they get along so well... I wonder if the basilisk knows its a basilisk?

What an adorable picture! I'm glad that they are getting along so well. I was not quite so lucky...... When I first got Zeke (nearly 2 years ago), I was told that CWD's & Basilisks could be housed together. So, I got Demon at the same time. They seemed to get along just fine for quite some time & even "snuggled" together at night. Then all of a sudden after about 6 months, Demon quit eating. I tried everything. About 3 days went by without eating, I took him to the vet & the vet thought maybe it was a parasite or that he was impacted. He ran several tests. The next morning, Demon seemed paralized in his hind quarters. Back to the vet we went. The tests were negative. There was no physical reason for Demon to be sick. The vet started asking questions about his housing & such & when I told him that Demon & Zeke lived together, the vet got very upset with me & said the reason for Demons illness was stress. Different species should never be housed together. They are not meant to live together.
I'm not trying to upset you skjonnhet, and I am happy that they get along & are healthy. Just letting you know that it can happen......
BTW, what are the sexes of the 4 roomates? That could be the reason also........
After Demons death, the vet tested and Demon was also a male. He & Zeke were "going through puberty" (if you will) at the same time & that could have brought on the stress......

When we got our basilisk Dracul, he was already an adult. The first water dragon he was housed with was our female Zelenka. After we saw no problems with that, we got more. We have 3 male water dragons and they are younger than Dracul.
