Hey there just wondered about RZ eating the beans and rice. She is in need of gaining some weight and wondered if this would help.
I was wondering what kind of beans these were and I assume its brown rice.
I couldn't find the previous discusion on this. But the kind of beans and how they were prepared wasn't discused in it anyway.
Thanks, Waiting to know

Hey Steph
I would use White Rice or a pasta Noodle with nothing added but I cannot Remember what kind of Bean to use I believe Lima Bean but not Sure. All you have to do is boil them in water plain water nothing added.

Hello There I couldn't find the previous discusion on this. It is in the Diet/Feeding board. It is the latest topic on that board. or patricksiguana.proboards23.com/index.cgi?board=diet&action=display&thread=1116240772I would use White Rice or a pasta Noodle with nothing added Patrick, I'm going to have to disagree. I feel brown rice would be better. It is less processed. Processing strips nutrients out of food. John suggested that 16 bean mix that goya puts out---along with some brown rice---cooked thoroughly and bagged for individual meals...then frozen. I thaw it as needed and sometimes heat it a dab in the bag to provide the warmth necessary to sort of steam the mixture to give it some softness. So brown rice it is. I haven't bought any of the goya 16 bean mix so am not sure of the mix. Marie;

i would feed no instant rice, but brown rice is healthier that white.
I fed my igs black beans, those are a heartier bean. i been told that any kind of lumes is okay, split peas, things like that are fine to feed them

RZ has been eating this now for 3 days and she has been loving it. I mix it up everyday with different greens and fruit and veggies. She wasn't too hungry today but ate more than enough yesterday. Today she had, butternut squash, strawberries, dandelion greens, kidney beans and green beans.
She only gets strawberries on a rare occasion. She likes them though. But grapes still rule overall in her eyes.
