I recently purchased a Mali Uromastyx and was curious about feeding it dandelion greens. I had seen on many care sheets through out the internet that it was a good staple for them. I also heard picking them from the yard was ok as long as I didnt spray it with chemicals which I never did. His name is Judah and he is a young mali now but he seems to like it when I hand feed him occasionally. I enjoy this but my concerns over the dandelions are what kind of bugs do I have to worry about when it comes to feeding from the yard. I saw small black bugs crawling on the dandelions when I picked them today. I have understood that I can buy dandelion leaves from the market but what grocery stores carry them. I have never seen them for sale at Price Chopper or etc.

Dandies are fine for uros. Use them as a staple green along with the collard greens, mustard greens and turnip greens. Very few places sell them. You might try an International market if one is close to you. Otherwise...you do like the rest of us...pick them out of the yard...;-) Just shake them out and rinse them well and feed. The bugs should not cause any problems as long as they're as gone as you can make them. Uros do eat some bugs, just keep the wild ones down to a minimum...:-)
