Sorry I haven't been around. Real life got rough there for a while and, as I always said, if/when that happens, I would focus on that and my critters rather than on-line stuff. (Not that on-line isn't real at times, but you know how it goes.)
Luckily, as rough as it was (and still is), there were no major disasters. Chica (my ig) is still doing well, as are our other critters including the new additions since I was here last. (We have breeder rats, a couple more snakes - ball python and an amazing black and white banded corn, and another cat.) Oh, the humans are doing well too.
My job at the Musk Ox Farm ended on the last day of Sept, though I went back for a day of haying. I knew that was coming, so no surprise there. So I just used up my unemployment until I landed a job at an Alaskan-owned pet store chain.
I know - evil pet stores, but it seems like a good one, and maybe it is better to join them than fight them to work for improvements from the inside.
I just started last Tuesday, and I'm training to be part of the "pets team". That means I'll be working with fish, herps, birds, and small animals (ferrets, rabbits, gerbils, etc.) We don't sell cats or dogs. In fact, we don't sell herps and stuff that can grow over 5 feet. (So we never sell igs.)
So far, it is fun and the people I work with and for seem cool. Plus, with our private zoo, the employee discount will really pay off!
Hopefully, I'll try and check in here more often now that life is starting to stabalize and head in the right direction. I'm off this Wed, so I will try hard to make it to the chat.
