Hey guys,
I'm not new to owning herps, but have a general question I would like peoples opinions on.
I am moving into a MUCH smaller place, and am considering getting a smaller lizard to keep me company. I have owned chameleons before, and they are definitely one of my fav's to own.
What I am wondering is, what reptiles do you know of that either A. don't need heat lamps, or B. Need heat lamps for the day, but can handle the cooler nights here (which can get decently cold here in Vancouver).
The reason I ask is because I will be sharing my room with him, and would prefer not to have to deal with a night light!
So, any suggestions are welcomed, but preferentially any smaller chameleons, or geckos, or smaller lizards in general!
Thanks for any help

I would look into mountain species if I were you. Many geckos can tolerate cool temps, but not really cold. Supplementation with night heat can be as easy as a UTH for many of them. Most geckos are nocturnal so lighting during the day is non-essential as long as there is ambient light from a window for photoperiods.
