Honestly I never tried sexing a T and I don't know how. I don't know the sex of any of my T's. It was never really that important to me. But I should do it.

Ahhhh this was the post you ment! Lol. Since it just molted and it seems to be a good size, I really hope you kept that molt! Thats your ONLY 100% guarantee on what sex it is. Even if its dried up, you can get rubbing alchohol and put a few drops right around where the abdomine and the carapace connect. Then you want to go VERY slowly and VERY gently and try to untwist the molt. You'll want to spread the abdomine out so that all the fuzzy side is on the bottom and the actual inside of the molt is facing up. You'll then want to find the first set of booklunks which are usually little white oval things on either side of the molt. You'll want to look between the two booklungs and get a magnifying glass if you need to. Your looking for a flap between the two booklungs. Taking a picture would help if your uncertain. If there is a visible flap than its female, if theres nothing there then its a male.

Here is a picture of my female T. blondi. The 2 red circles are the booklungs that your looking for and the blue square is the area that you will look for the spermathicae (sex organs). My T. blondi female has a VERY apparent crescent whereas I believe that the vagans will have 2 points instead. If its a male there wont be anything there, it will just be smooth. So pretty much if theres anything sticking up in that little space between the booklungs its a female. If your unsure of yourself, try and get a very close and very clear picture of the area. That would help out a ton! An outline..just cause I was bored..ol ;D

If you threw away the molt you can always pick it up and flip it over for a ventral sexing which is REALLY hard unless its a species where its REALLY apparent.

I threw away the molts so I'll have to wait till next time they molt. My mexican flame knee should have molted about 6 months ago but he hasn't yet. His back end is almost completely bald now. I'm hoping he molts soon and then I can try to sex him/her. Thank you very much for the information.
