For the most part what I have read about these geckos are that they are a bit more tempermental and not too friendly... www.anapsid.org/tokays.htmlyou may have already read it but here is one page I read up on them at... I know Collin has geckos maybe he would know more about this breed...

Tokays and insectivores which means they eat insects. The best thing to feed tokays is crickets, mealworms,or superworms. Why did you seprate the male?,they can live together unless they are fighting. What size tank do you have them in?. 3 or 4 tokays need a big tank. I keep my pair in a 29 gallon and would like to go bigger eventually. Tokays are not for handeling because of their aggressive disposition and painful bite. Handling also causes stress so its not a good idea.

i have a handleable tokay and their bites are milder than a rodent bite and don't really deserve the bad reputation

I would say a tokay bite from a big and angry tokay would be more painful then a rodent bite, trust me been bitten by my tokays and by rodents before.
