Ok so my friend was suppose to come over and help me feed Shnake today but he got called away and I was just to ansy to wait for him to come back and help me so thought I would give it a try on my own...
THAT WAS THE COOLEST THING EVER!!!!
I had Shnake in my hand just holding him then I picked up his pinkie in the feeder tongs and at first thought he would have no interest in the silly thing, then he sort of struck at it once them WHAM... He unhinged his jaw got it in his mouth and just started to swallow it down... That is the coolest thing I have seen in a long time!! Don't get me wrong I love to watch my iggys and uros eat but this was just totally cool!! And I did it all on my own... Once he had it all the way down into his body I put him back in his nice warm tank to get busy on the digesting thing!!
So any tips from the snake owners here on like how often to feed or how much he might be interested in eating??
Next time I will have pictures because that was just totally wicked to watch but the camera was not close enough today!!
Just had to share!!

For a baby that size I would say feed every 5-7 days.
I'm so glad he hate for you! It is pretty neat to watch them eat! And that he did it right in your hand is wicked! lol...can't wait for pics!!

Hi Elizabeth~ Great news on the feeding! I know this is an older post, but I was wondering if you were feeding live or frozen/thawed? Many snakes have been injured from live prey. I have a snake whose blind in one eye from the previous owner feeding live rats. He's been successfully converted to f/t...: - ) The younger you can do this the better for the snake.

I was feeding him frozen/thawed pinkies since I had heard that live ones could cause injury... However he stressed from the fire and smoke and stopped eating and even though we did all we could to encourage him to eat it was too much and he passed away... my daughter misses him terribly so we will get another snake...
