Is it okay to feed my igs carrots as part of their stable diet. I recently read on a forum, maybe this one I can't remember. They said that carrots shouldn't be feed to igs too much. But my James Hatfield Iguana book said that carrots be be a stable food. I feed collard greens and zuchini, squash, green beans to them along with carrots, but I always have fresh carots in the house. These are the only vegies my grocery store carries on a regular basis.
I recently bought a mandolin and the igs love having carrot slices. It slices them super. They been loving their veggies sliced like that.

You probably have his first edition which was written 1n 1993. When it comes to diet there have been many changes. His book is still one of the most thorough and accurate books arround but his second edition probably has some changes when it comes to diet. Carrots are good on occasion to add variety and color but feeding too much for too long a period will lead to health problems later. Here is a current food chart. www.greenigsociety.org/foodchart.htm
