Try this. Put the cage in a warm dark quiet area without traffic from people walking by. A closet will work. Leave it there for one day and on the second day drop in a couple of live pinkies then walk away. More than likely atleast one will be missing within a day. Sorry dude, but that means no handling until it eats. A stressed reptlie will not eat.

Awesome. It's supposed to make any food almost irresistable to the reptile. And I have heard good things about it.

Patrick,
When you bought "IT" did they tell you the last time he fed?? Because I was reading and it seems like they suggest sometimes that a lengthy time between feedings is not a bad thing...

I READ that for an adult snake you should feed it every 3 weeks. And for juvies every week and one half. And hatchlings every five days.

Unlike yours Patrick feeding Amazon tree boas is fairly simple and straightforward. Most Amazon tree boas will immediately take pre-killed or frozen-thawed off tongs or tweezers. If you are feeding thawed food, make sure the mouse or rat is completely thawed out. Okay, so you tried feeding your new Amazon and it will not take pre-killed or thawed food from you. What do you do now? The first thing you can try and it usually works, is superheating the dead mouse. Superheating can be done in several manners and many people do it different ways. You can stick the mouse in very hot water, place it on a heating pad or heat tape, or place it underneath a lamp for a few minutes. If you feel lucky, you may also use the microwave. Placing the mouse in any of those situations for few seconds up to a minute usually will do the trick. Just be warned that you only need mere 5 – 10 seconds to do the job in a microwave. One thing your Amazon tree boa might do is to grab onto the mouse, constrict it and then let go of it. A few tricks of the trade may help. Try holding onto the mouse after the snake grabs it and tugging very gently on it to make the snake think it is still alive. Also remain very still after your snake coils the mouse. Some Amazon trees are very sensitive to motion or vibrations as they are feeding. And lastly, be patient. If at first you don’t succeed, try again. Just keep doing the same thing. Some Amazons are so nervous their first few feedings that it will require you to hand them the mouse numerous times before they decide to eat it.If the above tricks still yield no results, you will have to resort to feeding live prey. Usually a live mouse will work although you may try rat pups, etc. Amazon tree boas love to hunt from above. Wait until your snake is sitting on its perches and then drop a mouse into the bottom of the cage. Then be very still and usually, your snake will immediately track the moving, warm object and grab it from above.Amazon tree boas have better metabolism than some of the other tree boas. They can easily be fed on a weekly basis without any problems. Some people feed their Amazon tree boas every 10 days. Feeding adults every 7 – 10 days is a good idea. Young can be fed more often; every 5 – 7 days. Several keepers have told me that they have fed their Amazons up to 3 times a week without any problems with digestion. Of course I got this from www.centralpets.com/phpscripts/search/storiesdisplay.php?Story=334
